At sea, he deployed with USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Rodney M Davis (FFG 60) during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He served as Assistant Air Officer aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) for a Middle East deployment with Eleventh Marine Expeditionary Unit and as both Maintenance and Operations Officer for the Vipers of HSL-48, deploying aboard USS Taylor (FFG 50) in support of NATO counter- piracy Operation Ocean Shield.

CAPT Greg Arnold is a native of Irvine, California. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree from the Naval Postgraduate School. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola and designated a Naval Aviator.

He served as Assistant Air Officer aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) for a Middle East deployment with Eleventh Marine Expeditionary Unit and as both Maintenance and Operations Officer for the Vipers of HSL-48, deploying aboard USS Taylor (FFG 50) in support of NATO counter- piracy Operation Ocean Shield.

Ashore, his assignments included flight instructor and squadron leader for the Shooters of VT-6 at NAS Whiting Field. His staff assignments include Chief of Space Plans

and Policy Branch in the United States Strategic Command’s J5 Directorate. As a Naval Strategist, Naval Space Cadre and Joint Planner, he was selected to stand up the Joint Interagency Combined Space Operations Center where he served as the first Chief of Operations and subsequently led the Plans, Strategy, and Special Technical Operations departments of the National Space Defense Center at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs. As the Pacific Fleet’s Senior Space Advisor, he led readiness, coordination, and synchronization of space warfighting activities in preparation for large-scale, multi-domain combat operations.

CAPT Arnold has earned distinction as the Joint Force Space Component Commander’s Field Grade Officer of the Year, VT Instructor of the Year, and HSL Officer of the Year. He has served on teams that have been recognized with numerous awards and is the recipient of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal Strike/Flight Award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
