Capt. Kayla Marti, USSF

Operations Flight Commander
U.S. Space Force

Captain Marti is the Operations Flight Commander for the 533d Training Squadron, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.  As Flight Commander, she is responsible for leading 33 instructors through the execution of Officer and Enlisted Undergraduate Space Training, graduating approximately 450 Space Professionals per year.  Undergraduate Space Training provides initial skills training to brand new assessions and Active Duty, Reserve and Guard cross trainees with topics ranging from Orbital Mechanics, Elelectromagnetic Spectrum, Space History, Space Law and Policy, Space Doctrine, Space Domain Awarness, Space Electronic Warfare, Space Battle Management and Orbital Warfare.

Capt Marti earned her commission on June 15, 2013 as a graduate from the Air Force ROTC program at Union College in Schenectady, New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  She has a diverse operational and training  background and has served as Crew Commander for both the  PAVE Phased Array Warning System and Global Positioning System, and has managed training programs ensuring combat readiness of a 560-person crew force that operates more than 70 satellites in three orbital regions.

Prior to assuming her current position as Flight Commander, Capt Kayla Marti served as an Instructor, Officer Undergraduate Space Training, at the 533d Training Squadron, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
