CAPT Andrew Dittmer is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland, a Master of Science degree in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He was commissioned in the Navy upon graduation from the Naval Academy.

CAPT Andrew Dittmer is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland, a Master of Science degree in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He was commissioned in the Navy upon graduation from the Naval Academy.

Operational and at-sea assignments include Carrier Air Wing Two as Information Systems Officer, embarked onboard USS Constellation, deployed to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf; the International Security Assistance Force, Kabul, Afghanistan as Chief, Afghan Cyber Defense Cell; duty on the staff of Commander, U.S. Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan as Deputy Fleet N6; and assignment to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Naples, Italy as the Executive Officer.

Other tours include duty on the staff of Commander, Submarine Group Nine, Bangor Washington as Chief Information Officer; assignment to U.S. Strategic Command, Omaha Nebraska as a Cyber and Space planner, as well as aide-de-camp to the Commander; and assignment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Brussels, Belgium as a cyber defense strategist.

CAPT Dittmer also possesses multiple information/cyber security, and space systems subspecialties as well as a variety of industry-related civilian certifications. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with two Gold Stars), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star), and the NATO Non-Article 5 ISAF Medal.
